This up close and personal club is the first electronic music space in the Upper Barcelona region has been fully renovated and reimagined. Every single detail has been finely tuned from the lights to the impressive d&b audiotechnik sound system, with subtle textures and warm colours throughout to ensure maximum immersion in the vibes and with high-spec acoustics keeping full focus on the music. Expect selectors who know how to read a room and artists who thrive in intimate spaces where the crowd is just a few steps from the booth.

Production throughout has been taken care of by Futur2, with careful layering of design aspects that nod to classic European nightlife but all reworked for now. In this conversation, we dive into the inspirations behind his music, the evolution of his craft, and the energy that fuels his worldwide journey from Tulum to Amsterdam and beyond.

“The One You Love” carries a deep, emotive energy while maintaining a solid groove. What was the initial spark for this track, and how did you shape its atmosphere?

I had just finished watching a Quincy Jones documentary, and how he approached his projects stuck with me—he put his whole soul into it, and infused it with such heart, no matter the genre. That got me thinking: How could I weave that spirit into a melodic house/techno framework?

I started with a groove that felt both hypnotic and warm, found a vocal sample with just the right emotional pull, and stripped everything back to let it breathe. The track almost wrote itself from there—it was one of those rare moments where the elements just clicked.

Organic House thrives on rich textures and hypnotic rhythms. How do you approach sound design to create that immersive, warm feeling in your productions?

For me, it’s all about movement and imperfection. I love detuned synths, sliding notes, and evolving textures—they create this sense of organic flow, like something alive.

There’s a fine balance between simplicity and depth, and I always try to build tracks that feel like a journey rather than just loops stacked together.
Warmth is another big factor. I run my drums through vintage tape emulation for that subtle saturation and use analog gear or plugins that replicate that richness. It’s about finding that sweet spot where digital precision meets analog soul.

Get Physical has long been a tastemaker for forward-thinking house music and beyond. What does it mean to you to release on this label?

Honestly, it’s surreal. I grew up listening to Get Physical releases, and now seeing my name among those artists feels like a full-circle moment. This label has shaped so much of what we consider cutting-edge house music, so to have them believe in my work is a massive validation.
I’d love to dig into their back catalog and remix some of those legendary tracks. There’s so much history there, and it would be incredible to reimagine some of those classics. Fingers crossed!

Do you draw inspiration from specific genres or cultural influences outside of dance music?

Absolutely. When I’m not in the studio or digging for DJ sets, I rarely listen to electronic music. I need that contrast to keep things fresh. Jazz, classical, underground hip-hop—those genres teach me so much about groove, dynamics, and storytelling.

I also love deep-diving into history podcasts. There’s something about understanding different eras and cultures that feeds into my music, sometimes in ways I don’t even realize at first. It keeps me from just chasing trends and helps me create something that feels more timeless.

A track like this has the potential to resonate in both intimate settings and peak-time festival moments. How do you envision DJs using “The One You Love” in their sets?

I think the best tracks are the ones that give DJs options. This one has that nostalgic yet hypnotic vibe—it could work as an emotional peak later in a set, or even as an opener to set the tone for the night.

Someone once told me: “Make music that you would play, and chances are, others will want to play it too.” That stuck with me. If a track hits me emotionally, spiritually, physically—whatever it is—then it’ll probably do the same for someone else out there.

Beyond this release, what’s next for you in 2025? Are there any exciting projects, collaborations, or upcoming gigs we should keep an eye on?

This is shaping up to be my biggest year yet. I’m deep in the process of finishing my album, which has been a wild creative journey, and I’m also launching my own label later this year—more on that soon.

I just wrapped up a remix for Sia’s album, which should be out soon. There’s a deeply personal story behind that one, but I’ll wait until the release to share it—it’s powerful. Also, I’m rolling out a series of edits as free downloads on my SoundCloud. The first one drops soon, so if you want a sneak peek, that’s the place to be.

Tour-wise, I’m hitting the US, Mexico, and Panama before heading to Europe in April/May. More music, more connections, and a lot of energy for 2025—lezzgooooo!

Northbound, your track “The Edge” was featured in BBC One’s promo for Team GB at the Olympics. How did it feel to have your music reach such a global audience?
It felt absolutely incredible. I couldn’t believe it when I was informed by the BBC that they’d be airing my track nationwide, it was like a dream. I sat down in the kitchen with my parents and we were all just laughing in shock and awe because we still couldn’t believe it, even though it was playing right in front of us. It was definitely an achievement to remember for sure!

As partners in both music and life, how does this dynamic influence your creative process? Do you find it brings unique challenges or strengths?
As both life and music partners, our dynamic brings a unique strength to our creative process. We’re a solid team, driven by a shared love for music that we’ve nurtured together. This shared passion makes us not just a couple but best friends. Our biggest challenge is the distance between us, with each of us living in different countries, but this hasn’t stopped us from collaborating and creating music. Our commitment to our dream keeps us focused and we’re determined to share our story with our fans on the biggest stages. No matter what the obstacle is – never give up!

You’ve had support from industry heavyweights like Nora En Pure and EDX. How has that backing shaped your career?
I think the main thing it’s done is give us a huge confidence boost to see our work recognized by artists we’ve long admired. This support drives us to keep pushing boundaries in our music and reminds us that we’re on the right path. Their belief in our sound encourages us to continue evolving, stay true to our vision, and aim even higher than ever!

What is the story behind your remix for Pretty Pink? Did you approach it differently, knowing it was for such a well-respected artist?
Our remix for Pretty Pink was a special project, and we definitely approached it with a deep sense of respect and excitement, knowing it was for such an esteemed artist. In all our collaborations, we bring together two unique musical perspectives, which keeps the process fresh and dynamic. What makes it work is our shared respect and open-minded approach toward each other’s ideas. We’re both passionate about exploring different musical genres and actively listening to the essence of each sound. Every track we create has its own story, and this one was no different—individual, distinct, and reflective of both our styles coming together harmoniously.

Can you tell us about your creative process when you’re in the studio together? How do you balance each other’s ideas?
In the studio, our creative process is all about merging our distinct musical styles to create something truly unique. We approach each session with mutual respect and a willingness to explore different sounds. Even when we have differing ideas, we ensure there’s space for each of us to develop our thoughts fully and translate them into music. Ultimately, the sound itself guides us toward balance; music is where we find harmony. Our work also reflects the love we share, as music often reveals what’s in the heart—and we believe that connection shines through in every track we create together.

What’s next for Northbound & Carolina Eymann? Are there any exciting projects or collaborations we should keep an eye out for?
We’re thrilled to share that we’re working on a series of deeply emotional, melodic tracks, with one in particular nearing its final touches.
